Travellers booking in another country may know little about the city, local conventions or the host’s language. Attracting them takes more than announcing an “international welcome”. Each uncertainty needs to be reduced before confirmation.
Describe the location with useful reference points
State the city, region and district accurately, then explain the connections that matter: station, airport, public transport, walking distance or parking. Avoid “close to everything” without a concrete reference. The full private address does not need to be repeated in public copy.
Use simple, verifiable language
Short sentences and precise nouns are easier to understand and translate. “Room with a private bathroom” is more useful than “an exceptional cocoon”. Record beds, surface area, facilities and services in their dedicated fields, then use the description to explain the experience.
Do not assume automatic translation will repair ambiguous wording. Review every language version you publish and avoid keeping a translation that nobody can check.
Let photographs carry information
A complete gallery reduces dependence on text. Show the room, beds, bathroom, entrance and important facilities. If the building or access could surprise an overseas guest, a truthful photograph helps prepare the arrival.
Explain conditions without local shorthand
Use unambiguous times, explain pet and smoking rules, state how children’s ages affect capacity and describe paid services. Avoid abbreviations that are understood only in your own country.
Make price and payment predictable
Travellers need to know what is included, what will be added and what may remain payable at the property. Test the summary with real dates and state tourist tax clearly where relevant. Do not promise a fixed currency conversion rate because the traveller’s bank may apply its own terms.
Prepare arrival before the journey
Send check-in time, access method, a useful contact and delay instructions early enough. For self check-in, separate general guidance from private access codes and provide sensitive details only through the appropriate journey.
Use available languages without overstating the promise
Gomyroof’s main journeys are available in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. This helps many travellers navigate the platform, but it does not replace accurate listing information or a response the guest can understand.
Answer in a reassuring structure
When a traveller asks a question, repeat the essentials: dates, guest count, selected room and the exact request. A short answer that matches the listing builds more confidence than a long generic message.
- city, district and access are easy to locate;
- capacity, beds and surface area are consistent;
- photographs are complete and current;
- price, taxes and payment are understandable;
- times and arrival are explained without local shorthand.
International reach starts with clarity
You do not need a different promise for every nationality. Present the accommodation faithfully, remove hidden local assumptions and make arrival predictable. This foundation benefits overseas and domestic guests alike.
